If you regularly check out this site, you would probably have noticed, I like to cook on Sundays. Well, this Sunday is no different. Today, I'll make a very simple pineapple pie.
Let's start off with the ingredients. You'd need the following:
And here is how it is done:
In a saucepan, you melt the butter and the sugar together. Once the sugar has melted, you mix in the milk. Pour all of this into a bowl and mix in the beaten egg. Once it is all mixed, get the flour and put it in a large mixing bowl. Pour the egg/butter mixture onto the flour and mix it all together. You can use a mixer to make this easy. Once it is all mixed together into a giant lump of dough, cut it in 2 portions. Take 1 portion and using the rolling pin, flatten it to make the pie base. Scrape some butter onto the pie pan to prevent the dough from sticking and pre-heat your oven to 200C. Put the flattened dough into the pie pan and using your hands, make it conform to the shape of the pan. Put in your pineapple filling but make sure you have drained it first. Then get the other half of the dough, flatten it as well and cover the pie. Throw the pie into the oven for 30 minutes. Bring it out and let it cool. Serve with a scoop of ice cream!
And now, here are the photos!
